Dun means a valley. Har ki Dun is one of the stunning valley fitted in a bow like depression in the Western Himalayas. The trek to Har Ki Dun can be done in both summers and winters due to its moderate level of difficulty and balanced snowfall. The vale of Har Ki Dun is adjacent to the Govind Pashu Vihar, one of the largest wildlife sanctuaries in Uttarakhand. The route goes through soft pastures, wildflower meadows, stiff ridges, firm ice masses, rivers, forests and old settlements. The vale must be explored on your golden pace, enjoying the beauty of the Garhwal mountain range. This valley lies at the base of the Fateh Parvat, a small hill. It is also enveloped between the pine trees and views of the mountains Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch and Black peak. The fauna is found in abundance here including black bears, langurs, wild boars, golden eagles and many other birds. The rare flowers of Bhojpatra and Brahma Kamal are to be found nowhere else than this region. The trekkers can enjoy the view of the Jaundhar Glacier from a distance.
Pick up from Dehradun railway station & drive to Sankri via Mussoorie, Purola, Mori and Netwar. Sankri is base camp for trek. Sankri is a small village situated at a lofty hillock with magnificent views of snow-capped peaks. In the evening, you are free to explore the place. Overnight stay will be in hotel/guest house.
After early breakfast, you will be driven to Taluka village, a base for the trek to Seema hamlet. It is an easy trek through the wooded forest & verdant terrains with a river flowing alongside. Seema is a small village with few shops & houses. You will reach Seema by late afternoon, hence you have enough time to relax & enjoy the evening with a bonfire, local folklore, traditional music & songs. Overnight stay will be in a tent.
We will start trek from campsite to Har ki doon by crossing over the Supin river with gradual rising trail passing through the lush green terrace fields, a forest of walnut, chestnuts and apple orchards. The region comes under Govind National park which houses various enriched fauna and flora. If you are lucky, you might encounter some Himalayas wild species like barking deer, Bharal, Blue Sheep, Bear or Leopard too. By Afternoon, we will reach our campsite. Har ki doon is situated at the foothill of Swargarohini. You can enjoy the fabulous views of the Bandarpoonch and Swargarohini peaks from here. Rest of the day is at your leisure to enjoy the sheer beauty of nature.
You can spend the day while exploring the campsite or can opt for some more trek to Jaundhar Glacier which will be a long walk and strenuous terrain somewhere. At the top, you can spot some glorious glacier view. Return back at your campsite.
After breakfast gear up for long downhill trek to Seema though easy one through the steeper & uneven surface. Along the trek you will find rich forest region hosting the numerous of wild animals & various bird species. You will reach Sankri where you will get rest or enjoy the campsite.
After breakfast, we will start trekking down to Taluka and by afternoon we will reach there. Later, we will board the vehicle for Sankri. Stay for the night in hotel/guesthouse.
After breakfast drive to Dehradun and it is time to cherish all the memories of the trip.

Trek passes through few ancient villages who still follow the traditional mode of living & life primitive life. They worship Kaurav & Pandavas of Mahabharata as their main deity.
